Thursday, March 22, 2001Shades of Blue and Yellow
My world is more than yellow; it's vivid shades and hues; All around me are the hints, the references and clues. I can be Jonquil, the dainty narcissus among the garden fare; Or Dandelion mingling within the grass, sprouting everywhere. I can be the Sun Ray; sharp and warm and bright, Or a soft shade of Cotton Blossom with a touch of yellow light. Imagine me as Champagne Sparkle; airy and bubbling with glee, Even a tincture of Newborn, in French whisper... Nouveau-ne'.
I embrace the life time colors, eternal shades of me, Like a diamond they burst forth for everyone to see.
My world is beyond a simple blue; it's bountiful and vast, All around me are the tints, and shadows that they cast. I can be Virtuoso, allowing the melody to swirl free, Or the deep shade of Ocean Floor, where you see the depth in me. I can be Periwinkle Blue, Pervenche, si vous s'il vous plait; Or the slight wisp of Tailwind... you feel from day to day. Imagine me as Lavender Twilight; an inviting touch of night, Even the freshness of Mountain Breeze, sailing free amidst the peaks of white.
I can never be just yellow, or a simple shade of blue, Within my soul is vibrance; a paisley of elaborate hues. ~ Kaycee Nicole 2001

KCWednesday, March 21, 2001Character is: A dilapidated homestead weathered by the elements of nature, still standing sedately amid a golden field of prairie grass.
Character is: The fine lines gracing an ageless face, where hard work and daily laughter have enhanced the flawless complexion of youth.
Character is: A massive barren tree standing alone and proud with its knotted trunk, thick gnarled limbs, and twisted roots, refusing to topple as it anticipates yet another harvest gold sunset.
Character is: The red paint adorning Grandpa's barn, that will remain bright and fresh in our memories, though it has faded with the passage of time.
Character is: The heritage and quality values our ancestors instill that ultimately become the foundation of every new generation.
Character is: An act of kindness, love and care bundled together within the heart that reaches out to others in a way that needs no explaining.

KCWe know not the hour, the minute or the day. But when the time doth come, Jesus will lead thy way. Prepare thy heart with gladness, to see God's loving face. Hear the Angels' voices, as they sing "Amazing Grace." Imagine all the spendor, a place to freely roam. Arms uplifted, hear their whisper "Lord God, take me home."

KCReflections
My life is a reflection of precious memories Each one I hold within my heart, is a special part of me. There are many completed images ~ yet a million more to start Every one of them important ~ a cherished work of art.
When I gaze back into the mirror ~ Reflections in my mind I will be blessed with gracious gifts ~ the ones so hard to find. The carefree days of yesteryear ~ spark the golden ray of hope That will guide me through the horizon; of gentle rising slopes.
Though it is difficult to part and journey past the sheltered love The reflection I will carry forth; soar freely, high above. I will share a portion of my reflection ~ as you will do the same To ensure beyond today ~ our friendship will remain. ~ Kaycee Nicole 1999

KCChanges
A single grain of sand can't be distinguished on a beach, It's one of several million nearly impossible to reach; yet, each piece is so unique, in color, shape and size; it's importance goes unnoticed as a part of nature's prize. An ebb of water takes away, what was once ~ just there, A change of tide gives back, even more than it's fair share.
A single seed lays peacefully on a bed of moisened soil, it's one of several thousand that withstand the winds fierce toil. Yet, each pod is so unique in color, shape and size; it's importance goes unnoticed as a part of natures prize. Securely nestled beneaths earth cover, it stays sheltered from the cold, A change takes place, then one day ~ the glory we behold. ~ Kaycee Nicole 2000

KCMonday, March 19, 2001Hidden Away
I hear the words...they swirl around until they settle, Into the hidden recesses, What do I do with them now? How should I tuck them away? Do I bury them in a shallow grave and hope the Fall leaves promise not to say?
Sometimes we face choices... some are many, some few, Tomorrow will still come, How will I view tomorrow? Should I waste it with a frown? Is there some magic trick to do or let the gravity flip it upside down?
The questions come... silently bearing their weigh, A dark cell holds them captive, How long should I keep them? Can they be contained? What will be their sentence in innocence or guilt can the cruelity be restrained?
Did you ever want to run and hide... Pretend you never heard at all? Words...the words are everywhere With my bare hands I scratch and claw Until my fingers are numb with pain... Silently I must tear apart...the wailing wall. ~ Kaycee Nicole 2001

KCDrift Away
Sun is fading, sinking west; Almost gone, bursts of orange and tangerine; Drift away...drift away... Into the silent emptiness.
A flock of geese soar across the sky; The wind helps them with the journey; Drift away...drift away... Chattering as they go by.
Cotton candy of white and gray; Form the clouds, imagine the shapes Drift away...drift away... Swirling and turning night and day.
Moving colors, people in a hurry; The seconds tick, can't waste their time; Drift away...drift away... Watch them scurry.
Silent thoughts occupy my brain; Fleeting moments that bring a smile; Drift away...drift away... Touch me like a gentle rain.
Life, a continous picture show Always moving, changing, turning; Drift away...drift away... Captured in a retrospectic flow. ~ Kaycee Nicole 2001
