*Here's what these links are about. There are eight main areas here to check out after this intro.:
  • The comprehensive index, listing approximately 150 separate entries, including information about more than 60 central figures in philosophy and cultural/critical theory, from Theodor Adorno to Max Weber, Louis Althusser to Sherry Turkle (and there'll be more on the way). The index also links to scores of terms that cover all kinds of fields, areas, subjects, and topics pertinent to the study of cultural theory and its relationship to new media. Alternatively, you can look up the separate author and subject indexes inside.

  • The core concepts section introduces you to some pretty relevant contextual information. Especially if you're new to the subject, you might want to check this out before you go rooting around any further.

  • The special topics section is where I get into the stuff I'M really into. Technology, post-colonialism, film theory, Scotland, and more!

  • Does cultural theory suck? Well does it? Here's my take on why it sometimes seems like it does, even though it really doesn't. Read on ...

  • The bibliography, for those among you of an academic, term paper-writing disposition. (Good luck, but remember, if you're going to use this site, be academically honest and cite it -- please!)

  • A multi-guess quiz to help get the old brain cells a-firin'. (Currently in limbo -- but it will return some day.)

  • Finally, we have "beyond", which will eventually cover a multitude of sins, including links to like-minded Web sites, other pertinent Web stuff, and anything else I decide to cram in there.
